Ep 49. Alliance

A map of The Rings is framed on the wall. Text boxes read, Mushroom has been sort of distant lately. She spends a lot of time in her parents' bedroom. And I feel like that's my fault. Text describes the sound of closet doors opening.
Text describes the sound of something being plucked, Dynamite turning, and his jacket hitting him in the face. He says, Mushroom, I'm. Mushroom says, your jacket was in our closet. I'm getting the brush.
Dynamite says, I'm really sorry. Mushroom asks, were you just, really happy that I was ok? Dynamite shouts yes. So many terrible things happened to you!
Dynamite says, I made, everything worse. I got you killed, and I kissed you. Mushroom says, on the mouth. Dynamite repeats quietly, on the mouth. Mushroom says, I forgive you, obviously. Grab your jacket, we're going out. Dynamite says, my melanin, no. I hate winter. I look like a girly folder.
Dynamite says, we're getting kinda deep into Outer Ring. Mushroom says I know, yeah. But the map said there's a lake. Text describes the sound of a twig snapping.
Dynamite asks, Mushroom, you good? Someone in a bush whispers to themselves, come on, signal me. Text says flash. The voice shouts, yeah!
Venus jumps out from the bush and snarls at Mushroom and Dynamite. Mushroom says ack. Text says spin.
Schick shouts, where is she? Text says crash and kick.
Venus growls. Text says squirm and leap. Venus says, oh man. You look stupid. Dynamite growls. Text describes the sound of friction in the dirt.
Schick yells, she's puffing up! Wait, she's a dude! Venus laughs. Mushroom spins around, text says turn. Schick yells, where's my sister, you sissy? What'd you do to her?! Text repeats the word step as Mushroom reapproaches. Dynamite shouts, I, I don't know who
Venus says, Schick. Text says jump. Schick says, It's right behind me, isn't it.
Text describes the sound of Schick being ground pounded.
Venus shouts, hey, get off of him! Text says reach. Mushroom says, I thought that razors, were way bigger than this. Dynamite says, you're right! Aren't these two really small? Are they brothers or something? Mushroom says, it's because they're stupid little kids. Venus shouts, we're not kids! And we aren't related! He's my mate! Text says snarl. Schick mutters something incomprehensible through a mouth full of dirt.

Mushroom says, go home and cry to your mom. Schick coughs. Behind Mushroom, someone says, mom's right here. Packmother continues, and this is our home.
She says, I should kill you both. She sniffs. But I won't. I can smell those abominations on your breath. It was you, wasn't it?
Packmother says, that spider was encroaching on our territory. We found its body, half eaten. Was it you? Mushroom says, I, yes. Packmother says, and you smell like you're from inner rings. How do you usually keep yourself fed, child? Hunting objects?
Dynamite shouts, it was me! Text says slide. Mushroom mutters, isn't that, normal? Dynamite screams, kill me, not her! Packmother says, I'll only kill you if you don't do as I say. Rid our territory of abominations, and find my daughter.
Packmother says, my pack will show you how to hunt real animals. Follow me.
